Latitude Manufacturing Technologies Signs New Licensee

Hackettstown, NJ, USA – November 18, 2003 – Custom injection molder Noble Plastics of Lafayette, LA is the most recent licensee of PowderFlo® metal injection molding (MIM) technology. A license agreement signed with Latitude Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. (LMT) of Hackettstown, NJ enables Noble to begin commercial production of injection molded parts using PowderFlo® MIM materials. Specialty compounder RTP Company of Winona, MN is the exclusive North American supplier of pelletized PowderFlo® feedstocks.

Founded in 2000 with a single molding press by president Missy Rogers, Noble plastics has become a cutting edge injection molder of performance plastic parts with four injection molding machines ranging from 30 to 330 tons and offers a wide range of value added services to its customers. According to Rogers, “Noble continually searches for materials, methods and technologies that extend and compliment our existing services. The PowderFlo® MIM technology utilizes our existing molding capabilities, fits well with our insert molding operations and expands Noble’s manufacturing capabilities beyond plastics.”

In addition to being processable in standard injection molding machinery, one of the key features of this MIM technology is that PowderFlo® products require no specialized debinding equipment. PowderFlo® materials use water and the organic substance agar as their binder. This type of binder system can be de-bound by simple air-drying; reducing the overall processing times for the PowderFlo® MIM process. Additionally, PowderFlo® materials can be custom formulated by LMT/RTP Company to meet the specific needs of individual applications.

Often working with inventors who have only a product concept, Noble’s staff is accustomed working in aspects of development from initial product design and prototyping through final assembly and distribution. This full service approach has been the key factor in Noble’s rapid growth according to Rogers. A strong customer base throughout the midsouth and southwestern United States allows Noble to routinely work with customers in the oil industry as well as generate significant business from medical, consumer, industrial, and sporting goods markets.

Latitude Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. (LMT) is the global supplier of PowderFlo® MIM technology for metals processing. LMT specializes in Licensing, MIM Material Development, Process Development, and continued PowderFlo® development.

RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minnesota, is a global leader in specialty compounding.
